Recommendations

The strengths of this resource are:

  • Provides a variety of activities that are accessible to implement as a series or “à la carte”
  • Language level is accessible for both youth and adults
  • Offers specific skills youth can use (e.g., meditation, apology, communication)
  • Normalizes feelings and supports self-awareness

Users should note that:

  • Accessibility and cultural relevance are limited.
  • Youth will benefit most when a supportive adult leads the activities, making the curriculum’s application more trauma-informed.
  • This print-format resource does not include digital adaptations or alternate media engagement.

The resource could be adapted by:

  • Planning ahead for how to best lead the activity and reflection
  • Sharing additional, relevant, and accessible supplemental resources (e.g., songs, practices, children’s books)
  • Supplementing with content for the digital age (e.g., cyberbullying, kindness and identity online)
