Description
Your Feelings Matter, developed by Ohio State University Extension, provides a 7-lesson curriculum for youth in grades 3-5. It guides youth in connecting with and supporting their emotions. This curriculum is not designed to support individuals in crisis.

Recommendations
The strengths of this resource are:
- Provides a variety of activities that are accessible to implement as a series or “à la carte”
- Language level is accessible for both youth and adults
- Offers specific skills youth can use (e.g., meditation, apology, communication)
- Normalizes feelings and supports self-awareness
Users should note that:
- Accessibility and cultural relevance are limited.
- Youth will benefit most when a supportive adult leads the activities, making the curriculum’s application more trauma-informed.
- This print-format resource does not include digital adaptations or alternate media engagement.
The resource could be adapted by:
- Planning ahead for how to best lead the activity and reflection
- Sharing additional, relevant, and accessible supplemental resources (e.g., songs, practices, children’s books)
- Supplementing with content for the digital age (e.g., cyberbullying, kindness and identity online)
